If you’re a golfer looking for golf instruction, there are a few things you should look for before booking a lesson.

The first is the qualifications of the instructor. Are they a member of the PGA? Are they working at a professional facility? Are they AAA rated? Are they experienced golf instructors or is the person simply not good enough to make it on tour?

If you are going to invest your time and money, it’s vital to know the answers to these questions so you can find an instructor who is knowledgeable about the game of golf and committed to helping you improve your golf game.

The final consideration is how busy they are. The instructor may tick every box, but if you can only book 1 lesson a month, you may need to re-evaluate your decision.

With the internet providing a new way for people to communicate. some are wondering whether in-person golf lessons are even relevant any more. After all. shouldn’t a video golf lesson suffice in most instances… The answer is that you need to work closely with your teaching pro if you have one. Nothing can top the instruction that you get in person. with your pro there to guide your swing.

But don’t sell a video golf lesson short. Many players learn great things through these free resources. They get tips for working in the sand. tips on putting. and little pieces of advice for thinking their way around the course. A smart golfer will use all of the things at his disposal to get better scores. That includes going for a video golf lesson in some instances.

Curing a slice

If you are like most golfers who hit the links regularly, then you know all about the slice. Just when you need to play your drive to the left, the slice comes back and you find yourself out of bounds or in a hazard. Curing a slice can be one of the most difficult things you can do as a golfer, but there are some answers. With a good golf swing lesson, you can beat the slice.

The problem for most players has to do with swing path. They come over the ball, which causes poor spin and trajectory. In an intensive golf swing lesson, you will learn to come through the ball squarely. This will produce a straighter shot and more distance, as well. When you hit the ball straight, the game really opens up and becomes more fun.

Get the Results You Want

To achieve the effective golf lesson, instruction must be interactive. You might read that and scoff. Of course, you say. That’s obvious. I wouldn’t necessarily argue with you that it’s not obvious, but in my experience, when providing a golf lesson, instruction often is not interactive. Many people participate just as much as they have to, as if they expect their game to improve auto-magically. Consider the golf lesson instruction you participate in, and consider whether the results have lived up to your expectations. If not, then ask yourself whether you are putting enough into it. Just as with any other aspect of life, you can’t get any more than you put in. Put everything you have into it and do your homework. Then you’ll get the results you want.

Not Every Golf Lesson DVD is Worthless

I’m not trying to sell you anything, so don’t run when you read the words “golf lesson DVD”. Like you, I ranked those golf lesson DVD media up there with all that spam email that targets golfers. Then a strange thing happened last Christmas. My wife discovered that her friend’s husband was having success with one. So she noted the title, tracked it down, brought it and stuck it under the tree for me. I smiled and hugged her after unwrapping the golf lesson DVD. However, in the back of my mind I’m thinking I’m never going to watch this. Except that I eventually did, and I must admit that I was a little bit surprised at how interesting it was.

Golf Lesson Instruction for the Intermediate Player

By admin, May 3, 2010 3:24 pm

After a futile year learning to play golf on my own and through friends, I finally took some golf lesson instruction. For a novice like me, the impact was immediate. Once my friends realized how far ahead of them I was, they took golf lesson instruction as well. Eventually I made the leap from novice to intermediate golfer, and then my game stagnated. I’m not sure why, but I never really considered seeking further golf lesson instruction. Then, I spoke to a golf pro one day while waiting for my friends. He gave me some pointers and suggested that he could tweak my game through some lessons. I thought I was past the lesson stage, but I guess you never stop learning.
