Five Lessons
Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf is a classic book of golf instruction by Ben Hogan. Before Five Lessons was a book, it was a series of five articles in Sports Illustrated magazine. The articles covered the following topics:
1) The grip
Hogan explained importance of the standard overlapping grip, and the slight modifications he personally used.
2) Stance and posture
This covers where to place your feet, how to stand, and why.
3) The first part of the swing
Hogan explains in how and where to move your body when beginning your swing.
4) The second part of the swing
This covers actual contact with the ball.
5) Summary and review
Although it was written in 1957, Five Lessons remains one of the most popular books on golf.
