Sand traps

By admin, December 1, 2009 11:50 am

The shot to take out of a sandtrap has got to be considered one of the most risk versus reward opportunities in golf. Getting the ball out of a trap and advancing either close to the pin or down the fairway can work wonders for a handicap if executed consistently. Most ahigh handicap players do not spend adequate time practicing sand shots. It is a completely illogical decision, as high-handicappers are far more likely to end up in the sand than more skilled players. The term “take your medicine” is one that universally applies to bad lies in sand traps. It can save strokes to sacrifice advancing the ball for a guarantee “out” of a trap, rather than attempting the improbable shot and ending up with the same lie.
